Meet the team

James Batchelor

Editor-in-Chief

James Batchelor has been a journalist in the games industry since 2006, and joined GamesIndustry in 2016, rising to Editor-in-Chief in 2021. He previously served as editor of Develop, and has written for Eurogamer, NintendoLife and MCV. He also runs the Non-Violent Game of the Day blog to showcase the full breadth of video games and their subject matter. He does still play violent games, but always on Story/Easy mode.

Brendan Sinclair

Managing Editor

Brendan joined GamesIndustry International in 2012. Based in Toronto, Ontario, he was previously senior news editor at CBS-owned GameSpot in the US.

Rob Fahey

Contributing Editor

Rob Fahey is a former editor of GamesIndustry.biz who spent several years living in Japan and probably still has a mint condition Dreamcast Samba de Amigo set.

Christopher Dring

Head of Games B2B

Christopher Dring is a games business veteran, beginning in QA in 2007 before joining UK busines publication MCV in 2007. He rose up to editor, a role he held for five years, before joining GamesIndustry.biz as publisher in 2016. He has contributed to Develop, BBC, The Observer and Sky News. He's also the architect behind events such as the GamesIndustry.biz 100, the Marketing Summit and the Best Places To Work Awards. He is currently head of B2B for all of ReedPop, which covers GamesIndustry.biz, b2b events at PAX and EGX, plus other special projects. He also frequently writes for Doctor Who Magazine. Because Doctor Who is awesome.

Marie Dealessandri

Features Editor

Marie Dealessandri joined GamesIndustry.biz as its first Academy writer in October 2019. After living and working as a journalist in France and Canada, she entrenched herself in the UK games industry in 2015, working for B2B magazine MCV. She can be found occasionally tweeting @mariedeal, usually on a loop about Baldur’s Gate and the Dead Cells soundtrack.

Chris Buckley

Sales Manager

Chris Buckley joined GamesIndustry in January 2010, now based in BC Canada, Chris is a veteran of the global games industry. Starting out in coin-operated amusement machine (arcades) trade publishing in 1995, for Centaur Communications ‘AB (Amusement Business) Europe’ magazine, Chris made the leap into consumer games and joined MCV Media in February 2000, where he quickly became head of sales looking after a number of entertainment brands and sales staff, before immigrating to Canada in 2008. Chris now handles all commercial sales activity for GamesIndustry.biz, and sponsorships for GamesIndustry’s trade events like the GI Investment Summit.

Danielle Partis

News Editor

Danielle Partis has been working in the games industry since 2017. She previously worked at Steel Media as the founding editor of InfluencerUpdate.biz before moving on to run PocketGamer.biz. She was named Journalist of the Year at the MCV Women in Games Awards 2019, as well as in the MCV 30 under 30 2020. She can be found on Twitter @daniellepartis tweeting about old games and big robots.

Jeffrey Rousseau

Staff Writer

Jeffrey Rousseau joined GamesIndustry.biz in March 2021. Based in Florida, he was a freelancer writer whose work focused on the intersectionality of games and media across multiple publications. He likes to learn about things and how people are finding solutions to problems, both big and small. When not playing games he likes to read, listen to podcasts, stay informed, or all the above at once.
